Azerbaijan round-up: Leaders still perfect
FK Karabakh-Azersun and FK Shamkir both made it five wins out of five to maintain their early pace at the top of the Azerbaijani First Division.

FK Shafa, the only other team with a perfect record, are now three points behind the top two as they did not play this weekend. On Sunday, Karabakh-Azersun were 3-1 home winners against FK Khazar Universiteti while Shamkir won 5-1 the day before against a visiting FK Lokomotiv Imishli side.
Kudinov double

Karabakh-Azersun had to come back from a goal down to defeat Khazar, when Huseyn Hasanovd the scoring on 20 minutes. However, two goals from Dmitri Kudinov and another from Samir Musayev were enough to ensure victory.

Alibabayev on form

Shamkir had a more comfortable day's work thanks to a double from Kamran Alibabayev and further strikes from Matlab Mamedov, Ruslan Amiraslanov and Badri Kvaratskhelia. Khalid Muradov scored a consolation for Lokomotiv.

Players sit out

Elsewhere, FK Kapaz Ganja had to do without 14 players, after they refused to play because of a dispute with the club, in their 3-0 defeat by FK Neftchi Baku. Vadim Vasilyev scored twice, with Zaur Izmaylov adding the other, in Sunday's contest.

Abdullayev winner

On Saturday, FK Khazar Sumgayit ensured they finished the weekend within three points of the leaders as they beat FK Bakili Baku 1-0 thanks to a goal from the talented 20-year-old Shakhmar Abdullayev. The day also saw the first stalemate of the new season with a 0-0 draw between FK Umid Baku and FK Dinamo Baku. Finally, FK Shahdag-Samur Qusar won 2-1 at FK MOIK Baku while FK Adliyye Baku were 2-0 winners against FK Turan Tovuz.
