Arkhangelsk scientists set about creating nanopaper

Scientists Northern Federal University of the Arctic (Safa) are ready for “five years” to create a production nanopaper. This was BakuToday According to the press service of the university.

“SC” Rosnano “convinced that we can get paper-nanocomposites, and is willing to invest in technology development and the establishment of production” – said Vladimir Dubov, Professor of St. Petersburg State Technological University of Plant Polymers. He, along with scientists from Safa is working to get the unique paper-based materials of mineral fibers. A professor from St. Petersburg participated in the IV International Conference “Physical Chemistry of Plant Polymers.”

Last week at the Novgorod plant of glass, where scientists conducted experiments on Safa production nanopaper, held visiting a meeting with representatives of the state corporation “Rosnano”. In the presence of experts were obtained nanofibers. “In order to create materials based on mineral fibers foreign manufacturers use organic binders. We have learned to use inorganic binders, materials that make chemical, biological and thermal stability. This is the uniqueness of our nanocomposites,” – said Vladimir Dubov.

According to the professor, in the Novgorod factory has already received pilot batches of nanofibers, which are made of special materials. For example, in energy-saving environmentally friendly technologies, air cooling using evaporative units, which are used in subway systems: in the tunnels and trains.

Vladimir Dubov presented “Rosnano” project to create a paper-manufacturing materials for up to five years. According to him, for its implementation will require about 2 billion rubles. In June and July “Rosnano” meeting to be held scientific and technical advice. It will take a final decision on establishing the production of innovative paper-based nanocomposites mineral fibers.

Reference: Paper-based materials have a high mineral fibers himo, bio-, heat resistance, resistance to various types of radiation. Nanopaper can be used to filter gases and liquids, heat and radiation insulation, adsorption, absorption, as a substrate for casting soft metals. If we talk about industry use, it is, above all, mechanical engineering, aeronautics, aerospace, transportation and nuclear power industry, medicine, pharmaceuticals, etc.
