4 February at the 48 session of the Munich Security Conference meeting was held between the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian with United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
On the agenda of the meeting was the broad range of issues of mutual interest, in particular, on the activities of various international organizations, development opportunities and expand economic cooperation, the course of democratic reforms in Armenia, preparations for parliamentary elections in Armenia, problems of regional security. The parties also discussed preparations for the Summit on nuclear safety, which will be held in March in Seoul, as well as cooperation within the framework of the initiative “partnership for open governance”, reported BakuToday the press-service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
During the meeting, Edward Nalbandyan noted, inter alia, that “at present, Armenian-American partnerships are at the highest level for the 20-year history of bilateral relations”. Noting that this year marks 20 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the United States, the Foreign Minister said, inter alia, that “such a high level of partnership has been achieved thanks to the joint efforts of the parties”.
“The sides expressed satisfaction with the beginnings of a friendly partnership between the two countries at the highest level, intensive political dialogue, periodic contacts and noted the willingness to continue the effective steps to further strengthen and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation,” in a statement the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
