Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sacked Minister of Economic Development, Farhad Aliyev, on Wednesday, the presidential administration said in a statement published by Azertaj news agency.
"Minister of Economic Development Farhad Aliyev has been removed from his post by presidential decree," the statement said. No explanation was given for the dismissal.
Farhad Aliyev was brought into the government in the latter part of the presidential term of Ilham Aliyev's father, the late Heydar Aliyev.
