President of Armenia SERZH SARGSYAN during a meeting with the Council of women of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) (leader of the RPA is SERZH SARGSYAN-ed.) in Armenian resort town of Tsaghkadzor commented on the arrest of journalist opposition newspaper haykakan zhamanak “Hayk Gevorgyan ‘s.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of the RPA Hermine Naghdalyan women asked the President about the arrest Gevorkyan and reported: “Before the meeting we discussed what had happened and decided to express our point of view, in this case, the content of the journalist behind bars”.
In turn, SERZH SARGSYAN stated: “the public authorities implement day-to-day operations, including in the fight against crime and detection of perpetrators of these acts of alleged criminals. From these activities may be inferred an objective limit human rights. If these restrictions are not unfounded, there are certain procedures in which one Institute, in this case, the Court must decide whether conduct of another institution-the police. Such problems in any State governed by the rule of law should be resolved in that order. In the specific case of Ajka Gevorkyan, I’m not about to make its views known to the Court’s decision, which, I hope, will not have to wait long.
It should be noted that a person arrested on the morning of February 3 Haik Gevorgyan is accused on 1-St part 242 4th article of the Criminal Code (violation of the car by a person driving and vehicles, causing avoidable serious or moderately serious damage to human health) and article 242 (leaving the accident scene).
