Sports and fitness complex, which currently builds in Belogorsk, Amur Oblast, will bear the name of the hero of the Russian Federation Sergei Solnečnikova. As 24 April told BakuToday the press-service of the Administration Belogorska, this was decided today by the City Council at the next meeting.
“Several meetings took place in Belogorsk public Commission of memorialization and historical events, which operated all the proposals of the public, the head of the organizational Department of the City Council Elvira Voloshin. -As a result it was decided to propose to the meeting of the City Council: Sergei Solnečnikova commemorate a memorable stars on the walk of Heroes in the Memorial Park and assign FOKu name hero. After commissioning the FLC would be referred to as the “Sports-improving complex” Sunny “s. a. Solnečnikova”.
Opening of a Memorial star on the walk of Fame is scheduled to take place on 7 May. In addition, today, 24 April, in an aide-mémoire stelu Belogorsk opened in honour of hero of Russia major Syarhei Solnečnikova.
Previously BakuToday reported that the battalion commander Sergei Solnečnikov died 28 March during field exercises under the city Belogorskom in the Amur region. When performing exercises on throwing grenades occurred contingency situation: after the throw grenade hit a breastwork soldier okopa and slid to his legs. The officer did not hesitated a second: Solnečnikov jumped to a soldier pushed him aside and covered the grenade body. Doctors were trying to save the life of the officer, but all their efforts were in vain.
For heroism, courage and selflessness shown during the performance of military duty, April 3, 2012, Presidential Decree major Sergei Alexandrovich Solnečnikovu was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumous).
