Tashkent and Brussels are working to improve the EU strategy for Central Asia

The MINISTRY of FOREIGN AFFAIRS of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel, which dealt with practical issues in the development of bilateral cooperation, including in the context of improving the EU strategy for Central Asia. “During the negotiations was discussed progress in the implementation of the agreements reached during the negotiations, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov with the head of the EU Commission Jose Manuel Barroso in Brussels in January 2011,” said the spokesman for the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

As we have informed, in the end of January, the Morel from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan visits. Then he said that the EU begins the process of revising its strategy for Central Asia, taking into account the proposals of the States of the region.
