During the meeting, Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan 26 January was discussed the fate of the Memorial apartment in Tbilisi classic Armenian literature Hovhannes Tumanyan.
The meeting was attended by Minister of culture Hasmik Poghosyan, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Chairman Shavarsh Kocharian of Armenia Levon Ananyan writers Union, and great-granddaughter of Hovhannes Tumanyan Irma Safrazbekân. During the meeting, Safrazbekân reported that already was willing to buy an apartment, which after a transaction is committed to donate its Armenian community of Tbilisi, with the proviso that in future it will act as a cultural centre.
On the instructions of the Prime Minister, after the conclusion of the deal on sale of apartments Tumanyan, Armenian Foreign Minister will discuss with the Georgian side legal issues related to the transfer of the Armenian community, according to Panorama.am.
As previously reported BakuToday, the Union of Armenians in Tbilisi issued a message over the possible sale of the apartment of Armenian classical Georgian-Turkish company “DžeoTuran”. The point is that in the 90-ies of the Tbilisi City Hall entered into a deal with a businessman, according to which last charge of the urban municipality of petrol referred to barter some public libraries including-city library named Hovhannes Tumanyan, located in the greater part of his Tbilisi apartments. Multi-year litigation library workers ended in victory. As the sole buyer of the “DžeoTuran” purchased the historic apartment gratis provided by the family of the poet in Dar Tbilisi under his name in the library 30-ies of the last century.
