The number of subscribers of mobile communication in Azerbaijan has reached 10 million

 

For 9 months of the year growth in the information technology sector grew by 12.4%, including in the telecommunications sector-8.3%, the it sector is 1.6 times the information sector-38.8%. At a meeting of the College as a result of 9 months of 2011, declared the Minister for communications and information technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov.

According to him, during the reporting period, the number of mobile subscribers amounted to about 10 million people, the number of computers per 100 people-15 units, while Internet users-60 people.

“This exceeds the world average in 2 twice,” said Abbasov, adding that the decision on granting licences for 3 g mobile services operators Azercell and Bakcell.

It was also decided to entrust the relevant gosstrukturam and 3-metre cellular operators preparing proposals on introduction of advanced 4 g services in accordance with the technical and legal standards.
