UN will allocate $217,3 million to Moldova on the path towards accession to the European family “

UN highlights Moldova in 2013-2017. as a “record-breaking amount” in $217,3 million. As correspondent BakuToday the press-service of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the partnership agreement between the United Nations and the REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA “for unity in action” earmarking assistance was signed by 10 February, the Prime Minister of MOLDOVA Vladimir Filatom and UN resident coordinator in Moldova Kaarinoj Immonen.

Filat stressed the importance of this support for Moldovan citizens. According to him, joint projects, which will be implemented with the support of the United Nations, to improve the quality of life, increase in the number of employed in the national economy, improve public health and poverty eradication.

Assistance is allocated to social projects, reforms in the area of Justice and human rights, the programme for reducing poverty, improving access to education, improve the quality of health and social protection projects in the sphere of environmental protection. The UN resident coordinator in Moldova Kaarina Immonen took the view that UN assistance will help Moldova to go “towards joining the European family”.
