It also requested to prepare and implement a programme to improve the competitiveness of the economy. “The relevance and value of setting this goal is first and foremost, however, that as the principal of our strategy at this stage we have set ourselves the task of entering our economy in the medium term, at the level of developed democratic countries. It goes without saying that without a competitive economy, eventually without building a competitive country, without realizing the targets set out in the US concept of deepening democratic reforms and the formation of civil society in the country, one cannot seriously talk about it “-stressed the Uzbek leader.
In his view, the need to put this task is also deepening crisis, the decline in global demand and, consequently, increasing with each year of competition in world markets for raw materials and finished products.
“The experience of many developed and dominant in the world economy countries proves that achieving competitiveness and access to world markets can be achieved primarily through coherent reforms, deepening structural transformation and diversification of the economy, ensure faster development of new hi-tech enterprises and industries, accelerating the processes of modernization and technical upgrade of existing facilities,” said the head of Uzbekistan.
