In Novgorod today, 8 February, representatives of the Regional Council of veterans and city residents laid flowers to the monument to the writer and frontoviku Vsevolod Kočetovu. He recalled that Vsevolod Kochetov was born in Novgorod in 1912, in a big family, which rented the second floor in a House at the Nikitskaya ulitsa Street (now Street Gerasimenko-Manicyna). In 1927, at the age of 15 he went to Leningrad, where he graduated from the agricultural college, worked as agronomist in Gatchina machine-tractor station, and later a correspondent for “Leningrad Pravda. In the great patriotic war at the Leningrad front, worked in frontline newspaper “the guardian of the motherland”. Kochetov also known as the author of post-war stories and novels, including the novel “Žurbiny” (the film Joseph Heifetz was marked “big family”, based on the novel, became the winner of the Cannes Film Festival (France) in the category “best new artist” for the year 1955). Kochetov has entered the senior USSR writers Union, was a member of the Central auditing Commission of the CPSU (1956-1966 Gg), he was elected Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. November 4, 1973, committed suicide (according to the memoirs of his contemporaries, he was sarkomoj and killed himself when the pain abated). He was buried in the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow.
